Xendit vs Stripe for multi-country SEA payouts, 2026

Stripe charges 3.4% plus S$0.50 on a domestic card transaction in Singapore. Xendit charges 3.30% plus S$0.50, plus a separate S$0.30 processing fee, for the same transaction. Both figures came straight off each provider’s own pricing page, checked directly on 29 July 2026. An earlier draft of this article found Xendit’s older blog posts citing different, lower figures for the same rate. Those pages are not used here. The number below reflects Xendit’s current, live pricing page only.

That gap matters more for a payout decision than a checkout decision. Checkout fees hit you per sale. Payout fees hit you every time money leaves the platform and lands somewhere you can actually spend it, across however many SEA markets you sell into. Get the wrong number here and your margin math is wrong at the country level, not just the transaction level.

What each platform is actually built for

Stripe is a global card processor with excellent developer tooling and a single flat rate for Singapore. It supports PayNow at 1.3% per transfer, GrabPay at 3.3%, and Alipay or WeChat Pay at 2.2% plus S$0.35, all confirmed on its own pricing page as of this writing. What Stripe does not do well is local payout rails outside a small set of markets. If you are collecting in SGD and sending funds to a bank account in Jakarta or Manila, Stripe is not the tool built for that corridor.

Xendit is built for exactly that corridor. It supports over 100 local payment methods across seven SEA markets, PayNow and cards in Singapore, QRIS and virtual accounts in Indonesia, GCash and Maya in the Philippines, FPX in Malaysia, PromptPay in Thailand. One integration, one dashboard, payouts to more than 450 local banks and wallets. That regional depth is the entire reason to choose Xendit over Stripe. It is also exactly why its own fee schedule is harder to nail down than Stripe’s, more markets, more payment methods, more variables per corridor.

The fee comparison

Domestic card3.4% + S$0.503.30% + S$0.50 + S$0.30 processing
International card+0.5% surcharge, +2% more if currency conversion applies3.80% + S$0.50 + S$0.30 processing
PayNow1.3%1.30% + S$0.30 processing
Singapore payoutNot a core product1.00% payout fee, S$1.00 minimum, + S$0.30 processing
Cross-border payoutNot a core product1.00% payout fee (rate varies by destination market, local minimums apply) plus a currency conversion fee, exact FX markup not disclosed on the pricing page

Every figure above came from each provider’s own current pricing page, checked directly on 29 July 2026. Xendit’s payout fee structure is a percentage with a small fixed minimum per market, not a flat per-transfer fee. Its FX conversion cost is not published as a specific percentage, so treat that line as unknown rather than assuming any particular markup.

What this means before you sign up

Xendit’s own pricing page is the source used here, not a blog post or a third-party review, so the numbers above should hold. Rates can still change without notice, and volume-based negotiated pricing is common on both platforms once a business processes enough to ask for it. Confirm current pricing directly before building a margin model around either provider.

The plain answer

Stripe and Xendit now sit close together on Singapore card rates, Xendit slightly cheaper on both domestic and international cards. Xendit is the clearer choice once payouts to other SEA markets are part of the picture, since Stripe has no comparable local payout product in most of the region. A Singapore-only, card-only business will not see a large difference between the two on rate alone, so the decision comes down to which platform’s payout and multi-market tooling the business actually needs.
